Team Members: Paul Burridge, Mick Dean, Colin Bradley, Julian Tier, Tony Hurley, Nick Hurley      Team RVL’s Three Peaks Challenge Triumph At 5am on Monday 30 April, Paul Burridge, Mick Dean, Colin Bradley, Julian Tier, Tony Hurley and Nick Hurley set off from Sussex for the long journey to Fort William in Scotland to embark upon their 2012 Three Peaks Challenge for charity.   The challenge facing them the following day was to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, and drive between each mountain, all within just 24 hours. The three peaks are <a href="http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/national-three-peaks-challenge/ben-nevis.aspx">Ben Nevis</a> in Scotland, <a href="http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/national-three-peaks-challenge/scafell-pike.aspx">Scafell Pike</a> in the Lake District and <a href="http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/national-three-peaks-challenge/snowdon.aspx">Snowdon</a> in Wales – the highest being a staggering 1344m!   The team had trained hard for several months in order to be at the peak of fitness for the event. In addition, every element of the challenge was carefully planned with exact timing points set so that they could ensure the 24 hour target time would not be exceeded. This preparation was duly rewarded with success, and the team completed the challenge in a most impressive 21 hours.   Team RVL is incredibly proud to have conquered the peaks and is absolutely delighted with the generosity of those who have made donations. RVL’s Managing Director, Paul Burridge, has rounded up some of the 2011 team members, plus a couple of friends, to take on the challenge in April in order to raise as much money as possible for charity. The challenge is to climb the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) all within 24 hours. In 2011 the team successfully completed the event in an impressive 22 hours and 7 minutes. This year the team hopes ‘unofficially’ to reduce that further and finish in less than 20 hours. The team members have already commenced their individual training regimes and all are focused on fitness, stamina and, of course, diet. In addition, to help them prepare for this test of endurance, some practice walks over similarly taxing terrains have also been planned. Paul Burridge explained, “We were so pleased with our Three Peaks achievement in 2011, both in terms of the challenge itself and the level of money raised, that we could not miss the opportunity to do it all over again this year!
