Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
34 staff members, students, graduates and friends of the university joined together to raise money for the Southern African Scholarship Fund at the University of Brighton by cycling 40 miles from Brighton to Hastings campus. lHelp us smash our fundraising target before the deadline at 5pm on 30 September!
Santander Universities is matching the amount raised, up to the value of £3000, helping your generosity to have an even greater impact.
The Southern African Scholarship Fund aims to help the development of South Africa and its neighbouring countries that were deeply affected by apartheid by funding Southern African Scholars on courses which directly benefit the wider community when they return home. To date, the fund has supported trainee teachers, engineers, doctors and nurses. Your sponsorship will help provide a scholarship to a student from South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique or Angola.
The university gives fee waivers on courses and free accommodation for scholars and the fund covers all logistical costs including flights, food, and a clothing budget for the different climate.
