Dementia is an extremely cruel disease and whether it’s Vascular Dementia or Alzheimer’s the conclusion is the same, it slowly but surely destroys the mind and personality of the person and takes their ability away to do anything for themselves.
Dementia is teminal and there is currently no cure!
Sadly, there are a few of us at Mayflex that have close relatives that suffer from the condition and so we know firsthand just how cruel this disease is.
To raise money for Dementia research and to set ourselves a big challenge to get fit in 2014 – we are taking part in the Hadrian’s Wall Trek on Saturday 2 August – this entails a 23 mile trek across beautiful, but very hilly, countryside - they estimate it will take us 12 hours!
