22/06/11- We survived! After leaving Aviemore at 10.30am on Tuesday 14th, we reached Spey Bay at about 8pm on Thursday night. Three days involving speed-walking, cow naming, fish-supper eating, late-night tent pitching, midge-fighting, deer-spotting, boulder-hopping, bog-avoiding, sun-cream applying, blister-collecting and rucksack hauling. We begun in the sun, relatively enthusiastically, and finished in the pouring rain, with rather a lot of tears. But also with relief and pride and incredibly sore feet/ legs/ knees/ shoulders/ backs/ necks. This experience has been the most challenging thing we've taken on and we hope you are able to recognise the effort and teamwork that allowed us to walk an average of about 11 hours a day for 3 days straight.
Big thank you to Tesco and Asda for their support, as well as Gavin Morgan and Karen Forbes for lending us one of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme tents. And thank you to all those who have already donated to our chosen charities, there would have been no point in us collecting blisters and midge-bites if it weren't for your support!
We are still trying to raise as much money as we can so please don't hesitate to donate, these charities deserve your support and we'd love for our efforts to raise as much as is possible.
Many thanks, Katie, Catriona and Kirstin. x

Catriona, being the determined sort that she is, wanted to raise money for charity by challenging herself. And what better way to do that than to trek the Speyside Way in 3 days somewhere in mid-June (we know exactly when we're doing it but we're paranoid that we'll get followed if we put the dates on the interweb). And to help her along the way she recruited two overly enthusiastic volunteers. And to make things even more confusing they all wanted to raise money for different charities...
