Elemense have formed a team of different shapes and sizes to take on a series of charitable events, colminating in a gruelling 10 mile run which will put many of the team to the test!
Our First event will be the arundel bath tub race on the 13th August. We will be building and then racing the bath tub raft down the river Arun.
Please come and watch as the tub is themed as the Bathmobile so Alex, Malcolm, Nathan and Ed will be dressed in fancy dress paddling their way down the river.
Our next test will be the Great South Run in October. Many of the team having little to no experience of excercise or running (except to the bar) but have decided to do their bit for an important and valued local charity.
The charity we have chosen is Friends of PICU which fundraises for Southampton Hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. This is a reqional centre for the South of England, with 10 bids for severely ill children from newborn to 17 years as well as providing accommodation for families. Friends of PICU helps to purchase essential life saving equipment to enable the centre to carry out their important work. For more information on PICU please visit http://friendsofpicu.org.uk/site/
So dig deep and raid your piggy banks, the way most of us have had to dig out our running shoes from the attic!!!
