We are running the Birmingham Half-Marathon on the 20th October 2013 to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the work they do.
As part of our training we are also running The Great Black Country Road Race 10k in Halesowen on the 22nd September 2013
The reason we have chosen this charity is because our friend and business associate Martin Garde (who many of you may know, as he has been our local Sandvik Engineer for many years) has sadly been diagnosed with this devastating and debilitating disease.
MND is a progessive and terminal disease that attacks the motor neurons or nerves in the brain and spinal cord, it can cause weakness and muscle loss throughout the body and effects people in different ways.
There is still a lot to learn about the disease but with help from charities and research new advancements and trials are slowly being created, which hopefully one day will lead to a cure.
