Janet Weaden is/was my wife and partner for more than 35 years who finally succumbed to breast cancer on 26/4 after more than 4 years of fighting. A lecturer at the National Star College for the physically disabled she was an inspirational character to me, friends and work collegues and more importantly the students, her special young people. Even whilst battling secondary breast cancer in her lungs, liver and bones she completed the 4 day Inca Trail Trek to Machu Pichu. Janet always looked out for others first and I want to show my respect for both Janet's character and spirit and raise money for the charities funding research into treating cancer and those who provide end of life care or were strong in supporting me as Janet's carer in the last weeks of her life. I will be trekking from the Dead Sea to Petra in Jordan and seek whatever donations you can make to the charities I'm supporting in Janet's name.
You can donate to either Cancer Research UK to help save any future sufferers of cancer or to Sue Rider Care, who helped to look after Janet in her last few weeks.
The only way to get the two charities on one page was to create this team page, we have setup individual pages here that you can visit. Whether you donate here or on these pages it goes to the same total.
