Technically I have entered myself as a team as I am supporting 2 charities while I cycle the 4000 miles across Canada.
I am supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children's Charity and the Royal British Legion.
Both these charities are close to my heart. While my father was serving in the airforce I was born with bilateral club feet. I needed specialist care and the airforce was very supportive to my parents, especially considering it had not been long since my father had joined.
Fortunately the Great Ormond Steet Hospital can offer many families a wide range of care today. Unfortunately they need over £50 million a year in your donations to do so.
The Royal British Legion is there to help our troops and their famies both past and present. I was told that 10 years ago they needed £30 million to do their work. Last year I was told they need in excess of £75 million due to present conflicts.
