Team Shebeen Forth Swim 2012 · 14 October 2012

As Scotland’s foremost provider of care for veterans and their spouses, Erskine offer unrivalled nursing, residential, respite and dementia care in four homes throughout Scotland for UK veterans. Erskine must raise in excess of £10M in voluntary income annually to ensure we maintain this standard.

Story

Team Shebeen was created in the Summer of 2012 by Ian Hudson,
Proprietor of Shebeen Bar, a South African Theme Bar & Grill
based in Leith, Edinburgh.

Their aim is to hold several endurance events per year, whilst raising
the awareness of & supporting a local scottish charity per event.

Team Shebeen's maiden event will be a swim from North Queensferry, Fife
to South Queensferry, Edinburgh, whilst supporting Erskine, a well established Scottish Veteran's Charity.

During the planning of this event, Jenny Ayris, a friend to many of the
Edinburgh South African Community, was killed in a Suicide Bomb Attack whilst working as an Charter Airline Customer Service Manager in Afghanistan,
this indeed came as a shock to many, and thus, the team have decided to undertake this but meager of swims in her memory as well.
