Story

Welcome to our page where you can hear more about our "walking the wall" project...

In early July, Shirley, Miranda and Larisa will be walking round the perimeter wall of the ancient city of Xian; we will also do a section of the Great Wall of China... to raise money for the Christina Noble Foundation. This is an important part of our "heritage tour" of China taking place this summer.

The Christina Noble "give a ger" project provides traditional housing for children in Mongolia who would otherwise be homeless. The Ger is a  tent-like structure  erected  in village communities to encourage education, health and the nurturing of children in a family environment. The Gers are often run by single mothers (do we detect a theme here...) who are determined to create a better future for these children.

We would like to raise enough to give a Ger on behalf of our family....

Some of you have asked why we have chosen this charity. After much research we learned about Christina Noble through our travel agents who had worked with them for some years.  I now know people who have visited the Ger village and I am sure that our contribution will make a real difference. We hope to visit Mongolia on our next adventure!

Your support for us and this project is invaluable. Thank you so much
