Story

Many thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Martin Pope and I are having a joint page to make life easier for Childaid who have very kindly let Team Temi use their Justgiving facility.

As you already know from the begging e mails that have directed you to this page, Martin and I, together with Jane Ebel and Ross Madgwick are going to run the Paris marathon on 5th April. That's very soon so please get your already overstretched credit cards out and make a donation to the Temi Community in Caucasian Georgia.

Temi was started in 1989 by Nika Kvashali who was so appalled by the plight of orphans in government instiutions that he started a charity to help look after these people. The Temi Community has grown to some 90 people of which approximately one third have learning or physical difficulties.

The acccomodation is still very basic and there is a need for extra nurses to deal with children needing assistance. There is a monthly shortfall of £4000 just for running costs so anything you can afford to give will be very gratefully received.

In addition there is a £90,000 capital project to help the community become more self sufficient which is the real way forward for them. We want to help the people of Temi to help themselves.

Our team of 4 will be dragging themselves round Paris on the 5th April so please support us by giving as generously as you can to this very needy cause.

Many thanks,

Martin and Peter.
