Hi everyone, we are Team YP!

Team YP is a group of children and young people benefiting from the life enhancing, confidence building, and aspiration raising projects run by Southend YMCA. We are taking part in sporting opportunities and activities we've never been able to participate in before and want to help other disadvantaged children in the area, have the same opportunities.

We have set ourselves two collective challenges:

1-  OCT 13 2012 To shoot as many basketball hoops as possible for a global world record breaking attempt run alongside other national and international YMCAs

2 – OCT 29 2012 Roller Skating as many laps as possible at our music themed ‘Rolla skating’ fundraising event

Many families struggle with basics such as putting food on the table or even affording school uniforms and shoes.

Poverty, hardship, homelessness, neglect, chaotic backgrounds and unemployment , damage fragile young lives and severely impact on their futures. Our job is to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to live a happy and fulfilling adult life and participate fully in society.*
