Story
Thank you visiting this page. For those that don’t know me i am Letitia (age 27). I will be running a half marathon in remembrance of my Dad Maxie Lynch. He passed away really suddenly whilst working 2nd April 2020 (aged 49) I have chosen to raise money for The British Heart Foundation, as the diagnosis that lead to my dad passing was ischemic heart disease (they call it a silent killer as it shows minimal signs, it is also described as blood clots that form in clogged arteries). He was also diagnosed with cardiomegaly (also known as an enlarged heart). Its ironic that a person like my Dad could die of having an enlarged heart because people would often describe him has having a “big heart”. Theres nothing he wouldn’t do for those that he loved. In return i want to do this run. My Dad was someone who in his prime, was extremely enthusiastic about all things fitness & until recent times continued to cycle to most places & go to the gym where possible . When i was a young child whilst he was driving along he would enthusiastically point out landmarks in Birmingham that he passed whilst on his daily Runs…Not to mention that he would do these runs with heavy rocks in his backpack! If you know me, you will have witnessed my fitness journey escalate to the level where i feel confident to run a half marathon, with lots of additional work that needs to be done behind the scenes. I strongly feel my dads support in spirit & i feel that his guidance has got me to where i am today. Both physically and mentally. With what would of been my Dads 52nd Birthday the week before this Run taking place, for me this will be an amazing way to celebrate his life! This event means so much to me & i would appreciate your donations/support/words of encouragement so much!
