Hello, thank you for visiting my Birmingham Half-Marathon fundraising page.
Running the half-marathon was the idea of my friend Nick Byng, we used to jog, walk and cycle the countryside in and around Herefordshire, Malvern, parts of Wales and the surrounding together when we both lived in Herefordshire.
When Nick suggested I run the Birmingham half marathon, which he has already entered, I thought it was a good idea, its an opportunity to 'expand my fitness horizon". I moved back to London recently, I have more time on my hands than I once did so I joined a gym about 2-3 months ago and have been keeping fit.
I have no doubt I will complete the race, its only 13 miles, I have done 10 miles on the treadmill in the gym on a few occasions, the only question is how long will it take me to complete the race?
Having accepted Nick's invitation to join the race, the next thing was to use the opportunity to raise money for a good cause, I have been a member of Amnesty International on-and-off for the past 20 years, I think this is a perfect opportunity to raise some money for them.
Please donate as much as you can to Amnesty International, they do a fantastic job standing up for human rights all over the world.
