about the mission     We will be linking up with The Living Room and Silencio Church with the aim of creating stronger links with local schools and working alonside them in their ongoing witness. We hope to take lessons, link up with students and use the ‘By His Stripes’ production in two English speaking schools - Britannia and Wingate - and take English reading and story telling tutorials in some local Spanish schools. We will also be using our time to pray for further breakthrough on the island and be available to take up any opportunities to do evangelism.

the team    The team of ten will be made up of youth and schools workers from around North London and will lead by Andie Frost (Haringey Schools Team Leader). Five of the group are currently on the n:flame Gap Year training course and this will be a great opportunity to experience evangelistic work in a different culture.

the living room     This is an outreach to those who work in and around the clubs in the the Veronicas area of the Las Americas resort. This Grassroots Trust initiative has a team working there throughout the year. Our team will help at the drop in centre and pray through the nights when the Living Room team are out doing streetwork.

silencio church     This is one of the local churches that support the Living Room. The team will work with the church in the local community where they can and will be leading their regular Friday night ‘Xtreme’ youth event.

we would like you to help     The ten days will be packed with opportunities to share Jesus with people of all ages but particularly teenagers and children

l All the team are having to raise the money to go on this mission. If you are able to contribute in any way that would be great.

l Please pray for the young people we will be meeting. Many of their parents will be involved in the tourism industry, often working unsocial hours, and there are the particular pressures and temptations that come with the constant ‘on holiday’ feel on the island. Please pray that as we join with the exisiting witness into this culture God will bring breakthrough.
