Yukon Arctic Ultra · 15 November 2005

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition which, in the worst cases, can be fatal. We fund pioneering research and provide care and support to individuals and families living with EB.

Story

In February 2006 seven men from the north west will attempt the worlds toughest ultra marathon the 'Yukon Arctic Ultra'. 320 brutal miles across the frozen arctic north of Canada in temperatures as low as -50oC! The lads will not only have to put up with the freezing conditions and the thought of running at least 40 miles a day, but there is also the constant fear of disturbing the local Grizzly bear, Wolf or Moose (Which is allegedly the most dangerous!). They will sleep outside the whole time and be totally self sufficient during the race. The lads have one aim, that is to raise as much money as possiible for research into effective treatment for eb and raising awareness on behalf of Debra. Read more about the lads on their website www.tent67.co.uk .
