<p>After doing the London Marathon in 2010, I managed to raise &pound;2,000,for Help the Hospices.I tried for 2011, but not lucky enough to get a place via the ballot. But then given a place for the Edinburgh marathon, this time I can nominate the charity of my choice,&nbsp;I have chosen Beaumond House Community Hospice.</p> <p>I have been&nbsp;involved with Beaumond House for several years, as a care worker,&nbsp;also with fundraising. During this time I have meet many people with&nbsp; life threatening conditions, they affect both young and old. Patients families and friends also need the support of Beaumond House, providing day,&nbsp;respite care.</p> <p>Hospice fundraising accounts for 70% of monies, with the health service accounting for the rest. This money helps cancer patients, either to live at home,supplying equipment necessaryfor their comfort,also offers of support to other family members or partners, to maintain a stress free inviroment at home.</p> <p>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
