Hello again everyone,
As most of you know, just over a year ago my dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. My dad has consequently been through one hell of a year, but he is doing very well and still kicking ass in Bristol! Actually, he's still just dominating the remote control and my mum is actually kicking his ass but hey I'm guessing after 33 years some things ain't never gonna change!
Anyway, someone sponsored me twice last year and therefore suggested that I should run the London marathon twice! With the gauntlet thrown down I have risen to the challenge! (although I have a sneaky suspicion that a whole year between each one wasn't what they had in mind!)
After setting up my website for sponsorship last year, I went on to read the literature that The Prostate Cancer Charity sent me. I was devasted to learn that Prostate Cancer is actually an incurable disease. My dad had never told me that and I'm sure its something we'll never talk about. But as a result I cannot give up the fight to help him and men like him who are diagnosed with this disease.
My dad has been through something I wouldn't wish upon anyone, but thanks to his medical team and research supported by charities such as this he is a survivor. Last year I trained so hard for the marathon, and was not only motivated by the need to help my dad, but also by your amazing support and generosity.
So here I am again asking you, if not begging you, to be so kind and generous again. I really do need your support and without you this all means nothing. I can run hundreds of miles but its your donation that makes a difference to my dad and the thousands of other men in his position.
