I expect, like me, you all know someone who has been touched by this dreadful disease and events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you can help more people survive cancer.
This year I'm running with a group of friends to remember an astonishing 5yr old, Ben, who had a very rare type of cancer. (I have tears as I write this as so so sad) He needed a liver transplant urgently but they couldnt operate because the Cancer had spread and there was nothing more they could do and 'Beautiful Superman Ben', as he was known, sadly passed away in September. Ben's younger brother was then tested and he was found to have the same disease. The good news is he received a new liver, just before Christmas, which his body took too and all is well.
Race for Life events like these are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
