Nepal – Everest Base Camp for Cancer Research
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for 2008.
This year I have chosen a very special challenge to highlight the importance – for all of us – of supporting Cancer Research UK.
To anyone who has helped me raise money through my previous challenges, including a free fall parachute jump and a trek through the jungles of Borneo, a heartfelt thank you!
Now the Everest Base Camp Challenge is on and we hope to reach new heights – pardon the pun – with money raised.
This year Nepal and an 11 day Trek to Everest Base Camp at 17,600ft with my close friend and business colleague Simon Stokes, is the target.
The trip will begin on the 13th March 2008 when Simon and I will fly to Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, then onto Lukla where up to eight hours of trekking a day begins, with overnight stops in traditional ‘Teahouses’.
On a personal note I lost my Mother-in-Law prematurely to cancer in 2001 at the young age of 59 and she was, and still is, an inspiration to me. Once you have had an experience like this then you realise that almost everyone has been touched by cancer in some way - or at least will know someone else who has been.
This is a terrific opportunity to meet a physical and mental challenge and raise money for a wonderful charity that will receive every penny of the money we raise, as we have funded the trip ourselves.
Please wish us well and if you can support us with a donation that will help to conquer cancer.
Details on the trek can be found at:

Please pass this email onto anyone else who will be able to donate for this worth while cause.
