After 37 years of working for a living I have decided I need a break to do something different. So, in May this year I will be embarking on a long, a very long cycle ride across America. I have decided that it would be brilliant if I could combine this adventure with raising money for WaterAid. I have previously swum a marathon and cycled from Lands End to John O’Groates which raised lots of money for WaterAid. This time it is an epic journey across following the TransAm cycleway.
The distance (without getting lost) is 4,248 miles over 93 days. The trip will be unsupported and I will be camping for all but 10 nights. I have joined the Adventure Cycling Association (US equivalent to CTC) who organise the trip. There will be a group of 5 members who have a common desire for adventure and one team leader provided by the club.
To date the support from my colleagues has been truly amazing; it has really spurred me on. It is a long time to be on the road and your support would be much appreciated. To that end it would be brilliant if you could pledge some money to WaterAid via this website. Donating is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
