Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

What the hell am I doing running a half marathon? I can't even walk to the chip shop without getting breathless.

I'm doing it because I want to support the ME Association, which is a fantastic  charity that supports  biomedical research into the nature and causes of the illness in the hope that one day scientists will be able to come up with unique diagnostic markers for ME which will lead to a cure.

The charity also provides support and information to many  people in the UK who have the illness. Some are so ill that they cannot leave their homes without support, or cannot get out of bed.  ( and not just because they've drunk too much Sauvignon Blanc )

ME Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Alternatively,  just send me chocolate.
