Story
I could never run a marathon so my humble contribution to the charity world is cycling 33 miles over 14 bridges across the Thames.
Previous years have involved thunder storms; floods; bottlenecks as 200 people try to get through one narrow gate to Richmond park; deer spotting; concern (and possible fear) from fellow passengers as I get on a train covered from head to toe in mud, wearing my favourite padded cycling shorts and cycle helmet for no apparent reason as i was travelling without a bike; the squeekiest bike in the world that discouraged anyone from cycling within 10 meters of me; and many many mars bars.
I do hope this year will be no different.
It's all in aid of the Stroke Association (www.stroke.org.uk). As you'll know from their frankly terrifying adverts, strokes can affect pretty much anyone and their effects can be devastating. The Stroke Association work to improve stroke services, awareness of strokes and the treatment of the effects of strokes. It's a pretty good cause.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you very much,
