Story
I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 invasive lobular carcinoma in 2007. She underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy and a mastectomy on her right breast. Once we got the all clear, mum felt it was right to have a reconstruction to make her feel "whole again". The surgeon was brilliant but advised she needed to lose weight before they would consider surgery. Mum being mum would not be beaten!! So she lost the weight as she was told to, then underwent further surgery which is now all finished. She is healing nicely and we both decided it was time to give something back. Hence the reason we are both doing the race for life in July. Mum is truly an inspiration to us all. One special and loved mum and nanny...please support us and cancer research UK!!
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
