Tibet Relief Fund was set up to respond to the needs of Tibetan refugees, following the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1950. Today, we provide vital support to Tibetans in exile and inside Tibet, including emergency aid to newly-arrived refugees and education, healthcare and income-generating projects for the long-term. Tibet Relief Fund also runs a sponsorship programme to support children, university students, elderly people, monks and nuns. Please, support our toughest mission yet... THE SOUTH POLE!!

In the last few years we have carried Peace Messages to far and high places of the Earth in the Tibetan spirit of flying prayer flags to bring peace and harmony to all beings.

This year we took part in the South Pole Race. This involved skiing up through crevasse fields onto the Antarctic plateau and across to the geographic South Pole at nearlly 10,000 ft. We pulled pulks loaded with all our survival equipment

We left England on 14th Dec and raced for the month of January.

When the going was hard, yet another 10 hour day pulling a heavy sledge loomed, the intense cold bit and the wind threatened to blow us to oblivian... that's when we questioned our sanity... that's when it gave us so much strength to know that, because of our struggle, kind people are donating funds to help something so worthwhile as the Tibet Relief Fund and its education programme.

The Dalai Lama has said that one of the best way to assist to hold the structure of Tibet together is to to help fund schools for the basic education of young Tibetans. This means that parents won't have to send their children out over the high mountains to try and find an education facing loneliness, frostbite and often death in the process. It means that young Tibetans will be able to learn to read and write and have at least a 'fighting' chance of surviving in the world that they now find themselves in. It offers hope...

We held hope for Tibetans in our hearts as we faced our own battle...
