We empower women and girls to make positive changes to their lives

Story

Theatre for a Change is helping women working as female sex workers from the illegal slum community of Old Fadama in Accra, Ghana. These women suffer physical and sexual abuse, and have extremely poor health and standards of living.

We are running the London Marathon 2013 to raise money to help these women have access to HIV tests and medication, to reduce stigma and raise their self confidence through telling their stories, and to reduce their financial dependency on sex work by learning other income generating skills. Please support us to support these women and their children have safer, more equitable lives.

We are aware that some people have had issues with the site when they are trying to donate - if this is the case we're really sorry and please ring 08450782083 or email help@justgiving.com and the Just Giving team will be on hand to make sure the process is as smooth as possible.

Or feel free to donate directly to TfaC: http://bit.ly/ZwgVrG. Mark your donation 'marathon' and we can ensure that the money will go directly to the Old Fadama project and your donation is acknowledged on the JustGiving site.

If you would rather donate offline please send a cheque to Theatre for a Change Ltd, 31 Clerkenwell Workshops, Clerkenwell Close, London, EC1R 0AT. Mark the envelope, London marathon, and also confirm whether you would like your name/donation amount mentioned on the Just Giving site in the offline donation column.

Thank you so much.

Mark, Giles and the TfaC team
