Jambo!

Between the 17th and 22nd of February 2008 Pieter Booysen, Jason Wesley and Paul, Tanya & Raymond Quayle succesfully climbed Africa's highest peak, the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, with the aim of raising funds and awareness for the charity Tools For Self Reliance. TFSR are active throughout Africa but are especially prominent in Tanzania, one of the poorest countries in the world. Please visit the website for some case studies on their work at http://www.tfsr.org/

Over the course of the trek we experienced challenging conditions from the humidity of the rainforest near the base to temperatures of -15 at the summit. We owe a massive debt of gratitude to the team of guides, chefs and porters that made our climb a success and did everything they could to get our weary bodies to the top. Ashante sana as they say in Swahili.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please make the sore feet, aching joints and frost bite all worthwhile by digging deep and sponsoring us online.

The expedition has been funded entirely by ourselves so that all donations, including the additional 28% in tax from the UK government, will go directly to the charity.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Tools For Self Reliance will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.

Jason, Paul, Pieter, Ray and Tanya.
