Story
Hi everyone!! Me and Girlfriend are raising money for The Lullaby Trust charity in memory of our son Tyler.
One year on from our Football Stadium Charity Road Trip, we have decided to do a "Part 2"
Last year, we visited all 92 English League Football Stadiums, plus Wembley, Highbury & Millennium Stadium. We covered 2,536 miles and completed this within 4 and a half days.
The reason we are doing this is to raise money for The Lullaby Trust, formerly known as FSID. They are a Cot Death Charity and they are trying to raise awareness to minimise the risk of such tragedies happening, and also researching to try and find a way to stop it in general.
We chose this charity, as on the 1st April 2012, Tyler passed away. He was only 15 months old, and a healthy little boy. We was given no explanation as to how he died and we was told the cause was 'unaccertained'. So we chose to do these events in memory of him and to do our bit to help the cause.
So, on to this years challenge! We will be visiting all 41 Scottish League stadiums (I know there are 42 teams but Stenhousemuir and East Stirling ground share), Gretna's stadium, the two newcomers to the English League (Mansfield & Newport), plus 13 other Non League clubs that used to play in the English League: Hereford, Kidderminster, Wrexham, Chester, Macclesfield, Stockport, Halifax, Grimsby, Lincoln, Boston, Rushden & Diamonds, Cambridge & Luton.
Once again we will be sleeping in the car overnight, parked up in motorway service stations and funding the trip ourselves, i.e. petrol, parking etc. this trip will be just over 2000 miles and will hope to complete within 4 days, starting on 15th August. By this time my girlfriend will be 6 months pregnant so it's going to be an experience!! We will also be posting a photo on the Internet as we reach each stadium.
