Story
Hello - thank you for taking the time to click through and get involved!
So, the Thames - why? Because 56miles and a RNLI call out in Scotland just wasn't enough! Total length is 215miles from source to North Sea. I'm taking on 152 of those between Lechlade, Gloucestershire and the Thames Barrier, London.
Averaging 34 miles a day, on the water for 11hrs/day starting at 06:00 on 26th March, pulling off at 10:00 in Greenwich on 30th March. I'll be solo again, and 100% self-supporting; literally carrying my food, water and camping gear with me in the boat!!
"The Cause" - Farleigh Hospice provide residential and non-residential palliative care to c.1,100 people at any given time from their base in Essex. They cared for my dad, and they are a superb organisation - relying on charitable giving for 60% of financing (that 60% = £7,850 required every DAY to keep it going!).
I'll be posting updates (providing the phone battery lasts!)
Thank you for reading, and for donating - of course.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
