Thanks for visiting my Th'Arctic fundraising page! In March 2009 I'll be doing a team expedition covering over 300 miles on foot, in a journey which will link the two highest communities in the Canadian Arctic, and I'll be sharing my journey with you through my artist blog which you can read at www.rebecca-mcknight.co.uk In addition to Th'Arctic Expedition, I'm also doing a series of small exhibitions in the North West, arts education work and working with the media. I'm hoping to raise a nice amount of money for Macmillan Cancer Support from friends and family for doing this expedition as it is a charity that is close to my heart. Your support and kinds words will keep me going when things get tough... and it will be tough! It's going to be bloody freezing :) and I'll have to eat freeze dried expedition food for up to thirty-five days! I'll be pulling my heavy sled and fretting about hungry polar bears... and to top it all off I won't be able to surf for over ONE MONTH! But all these things pale into insignificance as walking through the Arctic is a lifelong dream and I wouldn't rather be doing anything else in the world.
