My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Derrick's JustGiving page.
On Wednesday the 5th of October , Derrick the bear has made the 3419 Nautical Mile trip to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan to meet with a member of 653 Sqn Army Air Corps.
Derrick has gone to Afghanistan is to raise money and awareness for the Forces Childrens Trust: ( http://www.forceschildrenstrust.org/ )
The FCT Raises money for children and famillies who have lost loved ones in Iraq and Afghanistan. It allows and pays for days out for children who have lost their Mums or Dads in Conflict. As Denny Wise, the founder of the FCT said: " The children are the innocent victims on conflict".
On this Page you can donate indavidually or if you wish, you may want to sponser Derrick a certain amount of miles whilst it is in theatre.
Although some distances will be diffucult to report we will try our best to report accurately the distance covered by the bear. Due to the Enviroment in Helmand Province it becomes difficult to track the bear 100% of the time.
