Spawned from an idea of doing something completely random, after a few glasses of wine, we now face the daunting task of cycling from London to Paris over the course of 3 days - a grand total of 377kms - 234 miles!!! *wince*
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Sallie has more of a challenge than most, as she has to first master the art of riding a bike....without stabilisers!
We are raising funds for the local Buckinghamshire based charity STUBS.
STUBS is a registered charity that provides practical support for UK armed services personnel injured on duty, war widows and their dependants, service veterans and other armed services personnel. A key aspect of their work is providing soldiers from DMRC Headley Court, the military rehabilitation centre made famous by the Help the Heroes campaign, with the opportunity to attend sporting events. With future funding, they aim to extend this opportunity to all veterans to show them how much their efforts are respected.
STUBS is doing fantastic work with the forces personnel. By bringing them along to sporting and social events they are really making a difference on an individual level. Socialising has enormous effects on morale and well-being and supports the rehabilitation process.
Please dig deep and give as much as you are able - every donation no matter how small gets me one step closer to the target and supports this worthwhile cause.
