Hello all you lucky people, it's me Phil Jenkins and I'm after your support to raise funds for Help for Heroes.  If you read the information below it will tell you all about the challenge my friends and I have set ourselves.  I hope that you will think it's well worthwhile for you to support us.

Thank You

Phil Jenkins, Cwmclydach Communities First

Our group who call themselves the MBS (can’t tell you what it stands for) but the challenge as you will see when you read this, could be called mighty bloody stupid!

It all came about from an idea when two of the lads were out cycling and one came up with a cunning plan and thought it would be a good idea to complete the route of the Welsh National 3 Peaks challenge of climbing Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan and covering the intervening miles on a bike.  This is normally done by teams of four participants climbing the three peaks and then covering the distance between the hills by vehicular transport - cars, vans minibuses etc.  However, the boys thought why not cycle between the mountains instead and the idea was put to the rest of group and someone, “ I can’t say whom, but I could touch him with a very short stick.”  said he thought it would be too easy and it should be extended to include the ride from Caernarfon in North Wales to Cardiff in the south.  This increased the mileage slightly from around 150 miles to around 200! What’s 50 miles between friends, eh?  Ah well, as I said mighty bloody stupid!

Then we thought if we are going to do this we should try and raise some cash for a good cause and as some of us were ex forces we decided that Help For Heroes would be a charity well worth supporting and we hope you feel the same.

So in a nutshell that is the challenge; we believe it will be the first time that this has been attempted from Coast - to - Coast and including the 3 peaks as well.  However, we think that the 3 peaks has been done by someone on a bike who started from the base of Snowdon at Pen y Pass and finished at the Storey Arms after completing the final mountain of Pen y Fan, indeed a great feat in it’s own right.  However, we will drop the claim if some can verify that the Coast-to-Coast version has already been done.

Of course the main aim is to raise as much money as possible for Help For Heroes we are now registered with the Help for Heroes Charity and our H4H Reference Number is: 20090206-1377-0889
