My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are completing the 147mile cycle route from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Sunderland over four days from 21st June 2012 to raise money for SAMM (Support After Murder and Manslaughter in Merseyside).
We are completing the cycle challenge in memory of Vicky Wynne-Jones. Many of those taking part in this mega event are close family & friends, so its a cause we all find important.
SAMMM was founded in 1994 and is run by and for the people who have been bereaved as a result of a Murder or Manslaughter.
SAMMM raise public awareness of the effects of Murder and Manslaughter on families and sometimes whole communities.
SAMMM take up the issues of concern arising out of the effects of Murder and Manslaughter, and to press for changes that are needed to eradicate the thoughtless and insensitive ways in which the Criminal Justice System deals with families of Murder victims.

SAMM Merseyside supports and advises all those affected by a Homicide by offering an all inclusive service that gives emotional, as well as practical support, enabling them to rebuild their lives whilst giving long help. This is via a free 24 Hour Helpline, home visits, liasing with the various agencies, monthly meetings, Courts and a quartley newsletter .
