                        WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!!

We somehow managed to roll into Yorktown on time on the 26th.. 4000 miles done in two incredible months and it is finally time to rest, eat and have that long awaited gin and tonic. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and PAPYRUS, I am incredibly happy about the amount we have raised THANK YOU again and see you back in the UK.

***We've started and so far it's been tough but everything has been going well, see http://www.theamericanexpress.co.uk/blog.html for some photos and news.***

This summer I'm cycling with Alex Kinloch, Phil Lis and George Stancliffe on a 4,000 mile challenge across America. The trip will take us across 10 states; from in the West to in the East. Weather, bums and equipment permitting, the challenge should be completed in two months as we battle the snow capped Rockies and the blistering heat, on a route used for training by the great Lance Armstrong himself.

We are doing this to raise money for two charities - The Sick Children's Trust, and Papyrus, for the prevention of young suicide.
I'm asking my friends and family to donate to Papyrus, for the prevention of young suicide.

I became aware of Papyrus when my (and probably your) friend Ben Martin committed suicide at new year, and again when Papyrus organized a suicide prevention training day at my university. I wanted to do something in memory of Ben, who a lot of people loved a great deal, and a closer look at Papyrus' work - HOPElineUK, YoungPAPYRUS,  suicide prevention training in universities and colleges, and
work on the all party parliamentary group for suicide prevention, really impressed me and made it clear that if I'm cycling in memory of Ben, then Papyrus is the relevant and more than worthy charity.

Although dedicated to The Sick Children's Trust, the guys very kindly agreed that my friends could have the option of donating to Papyrus, in order to split the fund raising between the two charities.

P
lease have a look at  our main website www.theamericanexpress.co.uk for more information on The Sick Children's Trust and the trip. You can follow our progress live on the GPS mapping page, and watch a little video we made to prove we've been training hard.

We really appreciate ANY donation, to either charity, and please don't forget to visit the main website as well.

THANK YOU

Love,

Freddie
