Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity, supporting young lives from birth to 18. Our mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across Lancashire who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs.

Story

At 4:30am on Saturday August 22nd we leave Preston on a coach full of equally crazy cycling folk, and head for the bright lights of Paris. On arrival we'll be given our bikes and a map to Blackpool, and for the next 6 days thats our life: two wheels, 450 + miles, umpteen new inner tubes and a seat carved out of rock wedged between our quickly blistering buttocks!

Have we gone mental? Why would we do that? Well, for me it's to raise money for a really important cause. For Dan it's just because I dared him to, and you know he can't look like he's shirked a challenge! On a serious note, we're part of a team of 50 riders organised through Rock FM's Breakfast Show, aiming to raise £30,000 needed to ensure vital help is provided for some of the most vulnerable children in the station's broadcast area. These are kids as young as SEVEN who are living on the streets because thats a better option than what they've got at home, kids who are being neglected and abused in unimaginable ways. Having spent time recently with some of the children that this project has helped in the past, hearing their stories and revisiting some of the places they ended up setting up home, I can assure you that it's a really important cause and that the money really will make a big difference. You won't find a more grateful group of kids than the ones you'll be helping by sponsoring us.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please dig as deep as you can, we need to feel like 6 months worth of piles has been worth it in the end!

Thanks, and hopefully we'll see you on the other side...
