The British Liver Trust is UK’s only national charity for adults with
liver disease. The Big Detox is our new annual campaign to raise
awareness of liver disease, encourage people to take steps to consider
their own liver health and to raise vital funds for our work.
The
campaign will run throughout January and we hope you will join us to
make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of people.
By signing up to one or more of our six detox resolutions you will have
the opportunity to undertake a wide range of activities including:
giving up on a ‘guilty pleasure’; decluttering your surroundings by
holding jumble sales; getting fit and participating in runs, marathons
and treks; breaking free of the monotony of the daily grind by jumping
out of a plane, and swapping the cafeteria for a walking lunch.
Whether you raise £40 or £400, you will be helping to make a real difference in people’s lives.
- £45 will fund our Patient Enquiry Officer for an
hour, to provide valuable advice and support to people diagnosed with
liver disease.
- £50 will provide 75 people with detailed information booklets about their conditions.
- £125 will help run a liver patient support group for a month.
- £220 will keep our website in operation for a
day, allowing over 1000 people to access much needed reliable
information about liver disease.
- £325 will run our Patient Helpline for a day,
providing on average 15 people affected by liver disease with essential
information, practical and emotional support.
Once you’ve completed your chosen resolution(s), you can celebrate your achievements by hosting
The Big Healthy Dinner Party on Friday 29th January for friends and family and asking your guests to make a donation to the Trust.
So please dig deep and donate now.
