The Big Race - A Team · 1 March 2007

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

The Big Race; The A Team must run 12 miles (6 miles each) faster than the B Team run 9 miles (3 miles each).  The course is a 3 mile loop around Chalfont starting and finishing at Chalfont Grove

The rules; each member of the A Team must run 6 miles in relay faster than the B Team run 3 miles each in relay

Who we are; George Eyles and Chris Walder – the two devilish handsome... well bald and overweight chaps in the photo opposite ;)

Why; office banter gone wrong!!!

Can we do it; on paper NO! However given our considerable athletic prowess and planned drug intake anything is possible…

What we think of B Team; what an Italian Salami, Welsh Pony and Roast Beef! They should cut down on their porklife, mate, get some exercise! check them out www.justgiving.com/thebigracebteam

Why raise money for Spinal Research; in 2001 George suffered a ‘near miss’ spinal injury while playing rugby that caused a syrinx (a fluid-filled cavity in the spinal cord) and temporary paralysis.
