Le Jo'g 2008 · 6 September 2008 to 21 September 2008 ·

SeeAbility provides ambitious social care for people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss. We encourage them to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves and from wider society - and they in turn challenge us all to think about what’s possible, and to rethink disability.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Le Jog is a national relay race to Land’s End from John O’Groats in September 2008. Our team is one of a number of teams which will be racing across Britain to complete 1,000 miles! Our team's stage is from Inverness to Blair Atholl on 01 September 2008, in one day we will run 80 miles over 8 legs.

The event is sponsored by Unum which means that every penny we raise will directly benefit our chosen charity, SeeAbility (formerly the Royal School for the Blind).

The funds we raise will support an “eye 2 eye Campaign” Community Development Officer as part of a national initiative to improve access to eye care for people with learning disabilities. 1 in 3 people with a learning disability also have a sight problem however as many as 100,000 of them across Britain aren’t receiving the support they need. In some cases, this is resulting in preventable blindness. SeeAbility’s mission is to provide services and support wherever there is a need, with an emphasis on enabling people to achieve greater independence, to realise their full potential and to enhance their quality of life.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SeeAbility will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!  Many thanks for your support.
