Story
On Sunday 2nd August Mark Fox, Sam Cliff and Martin Andrews will be attempting the Mazda London Triathlon Olympic distance team event. Mark will be battling 1500m of the river thames followed by Sam biking a gruelling 40km. Marty will then finish the race for us with a 10km run. This is the first time we have tried a triathlon but we are aiming for a top 75 place out of the 200 teams taking part.........might sound a bit optimistic.......but we are optimistic guys!
Marks Story
I have been working for EACH since last November, and when I heard about the London Triathlon i had to do it, but when i realised I could drag a couple of friends on to do the hard parts this was even better. I called upon the 2 people i knew wouldnt say no, mainly because they are so competitive but also because they have always supported me through all my fundraising events. We all took part in the Great North Run a couple of years ago and they have helped and sponsored me through all my other events.
Each of us brings our own abilities to the team, Sam bikes to work every day of the week come rain or shine, Marty runs for fun and never seems to get tired, and I swam 25 metres about 15 years ago and picked up a brick from about 2 metres down!!! So, although I thought i had the easiest part, it turns out i was very wrong!
Sams Story
Yet another event i have been roped into by the Fox. Still, i dont mind a bike ride so quite looking forward to this one. Purchased a single speed road bike a few months ago and i'm keen to give it a good run out.
As always we are raising money for a great charity, hopefully we can raise a lot and finsh the race outside the bottom 10....!
Martys Story
When offered the opportunity to compete in the London triathlon I instantly agreed. Mainly because i thought it was another one of Foxy's impulsive ideas that does not reach much more than a passing conversation. However on realisation that it was actually going to happen I was equally as keen.
I have always enjoyed my running and even more so in a competitive atmosphere and an opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Another reason for competing is that i have always admired Marks charitable work and try and support him in many of fund raising ventures, this is just another way of showing support.
We have already had one generous company support us. Kea Kreative has kindly donated £100 to sponsor our t-shirts. http://www.keakreative.co.uk/
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: East Anglia's Children's Hospices gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
