10 for GEN again!
Following a successful fund raising walk for the GEN from Oxford to Kirtlington last year we have just completed a second walk in the South Chilterns. This took place on Sunday 26th July.
12 'GENerous' friends met for this second fun packed ‘10 for GEN walk’ in the Hambledon valley. We walked along the Chiltern Way from Hambleden to Fingest, and on to lunch and a drink in Turville where the Vicar of Dibley was filmed, then a circuit via a field with a bull in it, to hit Luxtors vineyard and brewery, and back to Hambleden for tea and cakes at the church. It is a lovely area, and this was a chance to find out what it has to offer. The idea was to raise funds for the GEN’s work with the Meo people in the Mewat area of India (spans Rajasthan and Haryana) where we work in partnership with an Indian ngo called End Poverty - see www.gen-initiative.org , while also having an enjoyable day out walking in the hills with good company. The walk was approximately 10 km long and cost £10 / head. If you could not come a donation payable to the GEN would be great! I would love to hit £1K! Can you help?Hope to hear from you!
