Bury Hospice Midnight Walk · 24 July 2008

Bury Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care to hundreds of residents and their families across Bury. It will cost to run the Hospice this year £4.8million and we raise 83% of this total, but with the support of our community we continue to provide care and services to those who need it.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

After watching their husbands cross the Great North Run finishing line (and in a moment of madness) Karen and Jillian decided to do their bit and raise some money for charity in 2008.  In the process they recruited two more 'willing' participants going by the names of Anna and Gail.

Our lives have all been touched by cancer in one way or another so we chose to  support the local hospice because of the fantastic work it does for cancer sufferers and their families.  So, at midnight on 13th September, these feisty felines   will set off on a 9 mile walk around Bury to raise money for Bury Hospice.

And just to round things off, Chris and Jon (Jillian and Karen's husbands respectively) are doing their bit and are participating in the Great North Run again this year on 5th October in support of the hospice.
