Bordeaux Marathon · 14 June 2009

Over 100,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We have all signed up for our first ever marathon in Bordeaux, France, on Saturday 12th September 2009. It is going to be the toughest physical challenge we have each faced yet and not simply because of the distance but also the warm temperatures too!!

We are raising money for MS Society Scotland - a charity which helps those affected by multiple sclerosis in Scotland. The charity works with health boards to provide specialist care including dedicated MS nurses in Scotland and funds extensive research into the causes and possible cures for MS.

Multiple Sclerosis is a condition of the central nervous system and is an autoimmune condition. It is the most common disabling neurological disease among young adults, and the MS journey is unpredictable for all MS sufferers. Although its cause is not known and a cure has yet to be identified, research continues into all aspects of the condition.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: MS Society Scotland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now - we really, really appreciate it.
