We supply emergency medical equipment to help save lives in rural Scotland

Story

The Inotroops are a team of 25 nurses and doctors from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Scotland taking part in the Banchory Beast 10km to raise money for The Sandpiper Trust, Wildcat Campaign.

_____

A group of new anaesthetic and a&e trainees were enjoying a pint in the pub one evening and decided that we wanted to do something for charity and the suggestion of the Banchory Beast 10km obstacle race was suggested by a certain lycra-clad member of the group.

So here we are, we have a team, we have a team name, we have new recruits and an excellent charity to raise funds for and are definitely intending on starting training at some point in the near future...

We are fundraising for the Wildcat Campaign, part of The Sandpiper Trust. It's a campaign that aims to create a network of trained Cardiac responders across the north east of Scotland. For each minute without the right emergency treatment the survival chances drop by 10% for patients who have suffered a cardiac arrest. By training community based cardiac responders their hope is to make survival more likely.

The Sandpiper Trust provides emergency medical equipment for trained medical professionals in remote parts of Scotland. Our aim is to save lives across Scotland; lives which might otherwise have been lost because it’s not always possible for emergency treatment to be administered quickly enough.
