In September this year my brother and I will be taking part in an event called the 'Scally Rally Ireland'.  (Coverage on UTV'S 'RPM' programme)

A Titanic Enduro Run of 1,000 Miles+

From the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, where the great ship was built, to Cork where the last passengers boarded for the fateful maiden voyage across the Atlantic, including most northern point, Malin Head and it’s most southern point, Mizen Head.

Ireland has hosted trialling, racing and rallying for over 100 years, beginning with the Gordon Bennett in 1903 and continuing on the Great Irish Road Circuits ARDS, Phoenix Park, Dundroad etc…attracting at their peak 250,000 spectators.

Ok, a 1000 miles is easy in a nice reliable modern car, except we dont have a nice reliable modern car! we have a car that cost £100, which is the maximum in accordance with the rally rules. Plus we have the added disadvantage of it being an Alfa Romeo, not very highly rated for reliability, as a matter of fact this particular model (The 164) is known by firemen as being very good at setting itself on fire! So we are sure up for the challenge and a bit of fun as we will be the ones dressed as Arabs, just like our mascot on the left. You can help by donating now!
