Update September 2009 - We made it!!!!! An amazing experience, many thanks for all of your support.

 

Karen, Mark, Martyn and Serena are taking the challenge of their lives and are attempting to climb Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro this August. 

The mighty Kilimanjaro stands at 5895 metres, which reflects our fundraising target for a much deserving local charity.

We have chosen to support St. Leonard's Hospice in York as a tribute to a friend who was cared for in the final days of her short life, and the wonderful services they provide.

Despite almost 6000m of climbing, altitude sickness and freezing temperatures, perhaps the most difficult things will be the lack of hot running water, a proper toilet and no hair straighteners!!!!!! (for Martyn!)
