We are raising funds for the PDDCS (Peterborough & District Deaf Children's Society). This is our local branch of the NDCS. We have had amazing support since our son, Daniel was diagnosed as severely deaf at 6 weeks old and this support continues. We are doing The Big Walk Forward 2008 in March as a family. It is a 5 mile walk which may not seem difficult but our 4 year old daughter is determined to walk the whole 5 miles to show support for her little brother. So with her little legs and Daniel expected to dribble his way round this walk could take a long time!!!!
The money raised will help in a big way towards our Christmas party where deaf children and their families get together for a great day. Outings including the annual summer trip, Christmas panto which is signed, other days out and also the fortnightly toddler drop in session will benefit greatly from the money we raise. All activities are organised and run by a committee of parents with deaf children without whom we would have felt very alone.
Update on 11th March 2008 Well we have done the walk!!!! We are so proud to have reached our target and some more too. This money will help our charity so much. We want to thank everyone who has spent time looking at our fundraising page and kindly sponsored us. We are so proud of Leah who managed to walk so far and still get me up at 5.20am the next morning!! She certainly had more energy than her Mummy the day after the walk. Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The National Deaf Children's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
