What happened when a group of adults with disabilities, supported by their non-disabled buddies, a medical team and an army of local guides and porters, decided to take on one of the most feared and revered mountains? This was a very real challenge. On average, ten climbers die each year while trying to summit Mount Kilimanjaro.

Not one but many stories unfold, each compelling and inspiring and bearing witness to the full spectrum of emotions. We become part of the climbers' personal worlds and as we do so any lingering preconceptions about disability quickly evaporate. Their determination and humour is more than a match for the additional challenges they face, especially when enhanced by the support, trust and camaraderie of the new friendships that evolve during the ascent.

The project was initiated by Enham, a UK charity that exists to give disabled people opportunities to make real choices in life. Enham sees those with disabilities as who they are rather than what they are. So will we.

From the outset, music has been a key feature: Michael Price, a renowned composer, paints the musical backdrop as he climbs, taking inspiration from the story as it develops.

We have already raised over 75% of the production costs through the enormous generosity of a number of individuals and organisations who have contributed both in hard cash and by providing services and equipment free of charge or at highly discounted rates. But we still have a way to go, notably to complete the score. Supporting the film creates a virtuous cycle: more money means a better quality end-product means wider distribution means both a higher profile and more money for Enham. All of the film team's profits will go to Enham.
