Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page!

We are a team of five colleagues from ScottishPower who have decided to take on the 2012 Rob Roy Challenge. The route covers 55 miles from Drymen to Kenmore – the first 16 to Callander is done on foot, and the last 39 on a bike.

None of us has ever done the Rob Roy before but we are no strangers to a challenge and between us have completed the Glasgow to Edinburgh cycle, the Loch Ness Marathon, the Mighty Deerstalker, the Caledonian Challenge, the Craggy Island Triathlon and Maggie's Monster Bike & Hike to name only a few. Team training has started – as well as scheduling in group sessions at the weekend we are all trying to get some training in on our own during the week, jugging it with work, family commitments and (if there is any time left) our social lives!

£2,000 is a substantial target, but we are up for the challenge! To meet this we will be having baking sales at work and forcing our colleagues to pay to eat our home made baking creations. We are also arranging a bag packing session at a supermarket, and there are a few more ideas in the pipeline... watch this space!

The funds raised from this event will be split between four charities. 75% of the proceeds will go to Alzheimer Scotland, the NSPCC, and WaterAid, and the remainder will be awarded by the Martin Currie Charitable Foundation through smaller donations to a range of good causes

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

There is no amount too small – please help us support these great charities and donate now!

Jen, Phil, Colin, Jonny & Gary
