Story

Just a short note to say a huge thanks to you all for your kind donation and words of support re the above.

Our attempt to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon in 24 hours brought the team face-to-face with some of the worst weather of the year, ironic as it was Summer.  With fog, rain, wind and visibility down to nearly zero at some points - mother nature did her best to ensure we were tested.  Soaked, drained of energy and deprived of sleep we battled on and, with the help of a crack support team including drivers and first aiders, managed to complete the task in 27 hours and 22 minutes (disappointed that we didn't do it in 24 hours).

We had really bad weather throughout -  so much for an English summer!  Even the drives between Scotland, England and Wales had their challenging moments.  We also collected a few injuries along the way which hampered our speed, but everybody focused on completing the task. Failure wasn’t an option!   The sense of achievement when it was all over definitely outweighed the struggle of completing it in such atrocious conditions.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

In June 2008 as part of our corporate social responsibility activities, Parasol, in conjunction with our partners at ATSCo, undertook a major fundraising event to raise money for Childline.

Parasol aimed to raise £10,000 by taking part in the 24 Hour 3 Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. These are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon respectively.

As part of the training the team undertook the Yorkshire Dales 3 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 14th June which in itself is no mean feat.

Please dig deep and sponsor us online - any donations, small or large will be greatly appreciated.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: ChildLine will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your valued support.

Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC
